INVESTMENT SCAM

We have recently become aware of scam phone apps, primarily advertised and available in India, using STANLEY® logos and product photos to claim an investment opportunity. The websites hosting these scam apps change regularly, and use URLs that are intended to look similar to STANLEY (e.g., tanley.xyz, stanyle.art, taeley.biz). Videos and advertisements for these websites and apps are also placed on a number of social media networks, some of which identify the “STANLEY” app as a scam, but point to similar scam apps using another company’s branding as either being legitimate, or somehow allowing you to recover money lost through the “STANLEY” scam app/website.

Don’t fall for any of these tricks. These scam websites and apps are all trying to get your credit card or bank account information to steal your money or take non-refundable payments from you. They will assert that withdrawals from your “account” require additional fees or taxes as a way to obtain more money from you. Similar apps are also attempts to obtain additional money. It should be assumed that any money that the app purports to transfer back to you will be reversed back to the scammer. STANLEY® does not run any form of investment app, and investment in our parent company, Stanley Black & Decker, Inc., is only through our stock that trades as SWK on the New York Stock Exchange.
