NEW YORK, NY - JUNE 25, 2009 – Stanley® announced today the introduction of three new ratcheting multi-bit screwdrivers during its new product introduction at the Westin New York Hotel. Stephen Skeels, leader of the company’s Cutting & Clamping Strategic Business Unit said, “The ratcheting multi-bit category has become a little sleepy for the past few years … many companies have proliferated the market with ‘me-too’ products but none of them have really set a new standard of quality or performance. This is why we are launching three new ratcheting multi-bit screwdrivers … they strike the perfect balance between comfort and functionality. We are confident that they will clearly set Stanley® apart from all others when it comes to performance-driven quality.”
FatMax® Xtreme™ Ratcheting Multi-Bit Screwdriver
The new FatMax® Xtreme™ ratcheting multi-bit screwdriver provides an extremely fine ratcheting action while offering a high torque capacity (3X’s the tightening capability of an average person). Its easy-to-use ratcheting mechanism turns in eight-degree increments for smooth, precise, and fast operation. Additionally, the tool provides a low-profile mechanical bit holder to help keep bits secure during operation. Its integrated bit storage offers quick-and-easy access without the risk of misplacing the storage cap during use.
Stanley® engineers designed the new FatMax® Xtreme™ ratcheting multi-bit screwdriver with extreme comfort in mind. This is why the tool features a tri-material handle with rubber comfort grip. Its slim profile conforms to the shape of the user’s hand for a firm grip and improved tightening capability. The FatMax® Xtreme™ ratcheting multi-bit screwdriver features a 3-position ratcheting action, which allows the user to turn in clockwise, counter-clockwise, and locked positions. A knurled barrel provides solid grip for finger adjustments in those tedious situations that require added precision.
Scheduled to launch in September, the model 69-195 FatMax® Xtreme™ ratcheting multi-bit screwdriver includes the tool and six chrome vanadium bits to perform a variety of applications. It will be available at home centers, construction supply stores, and on the web. The new FatMax® Xtreme™ ratcheting multi-bit screwdriver is expected to sell for approximately $16.99.

The new FatMax® ratcheting multi-bit screwdriver features a 3-position ratcheting action, which allows the user to turn fasteners clockwise, counter-clockwise, and in a locked position. Additionally, the tool provides a quick-release mechanical bit holder using powerful magnets for fast and secure bit change capability. Stanley® engineers designed the new ratcheting multi-bit screwdriver with added comfort in mind. Its chrome-plates barrel helps to resist corrosion as well as protect from the wear and tear of daily use.

Push-n-Pick Multi-Bit Screwdriver
This new multi-bit screwdriver includes six chrome vanadium bits for added durability and rust-resistance. Unlike traditional bits included with this type of driver, each 3-1/2” bit is able to reach easily into counter-bored holes and perform challenging tasks. The tool’s integrated storage system, located inside the handle, helps to facilitate bit changes in a matter of seconds. Its powerful magnetic bit holder secures the bit during use. The Stanley® Push-n-Pick bits feature a hex-shaped shaft to provide additional torque when loosening or tightening bolts. They can also be used in drill-drivers for extreme versatility. The tool’s comfortable handle is well-balanced to offer superior gripping capability and improved torque. Currently available in home centers, hardware stores and construction supply stores, the Stanley® Push-n-Pick is expected to sell for approximately $8.99.
