SUMMARY: Stanley introduces the FatMax® Short Blade
Chisels and adds to its extensive and innovative FatMax® hand
tool family. With a unique friction welding process and ball-bearing
grade steel, these new FatMax® Chisels provide increased strength
in the neck area where common breakage occurs. The blade is
constructed of hardened and tempered high chrome, carbon alloy
steel enabling the blade to stay sharp for longer periods
of time and substantially improved edge retention. Designed
for resisting tough impact and treatment, the ergonomic bi-material
handle has a steel striking cap allowing the user to work
with a steel headed hammer. The new FatMax® Chisels bring
the innovative traditions of the FatMax® line to those who
demand and rely on high performance hand tools.
LAS VEGAS, Nevada, January 19, 2004 –
Stanley proudly introduces the FatMax® Short Blade Chisel,
an ideal tool for the dedicated woodworker who repeatedly
requires perfect grooves, crisp carvings and timesaving precision
when using their tools. This new line is available in a three-
piece or six-piece set or as nine single chisels. Each chisel
features a full-length blade protector to act as a safeguard
during storage.
Each FatMax® Short Blade chisel is friction welded for a
stronger blade and improved performance. The high-quality
ball-bearing grade steel allows the chisel blade to stay sharp
longer unlike forged blades that require more frequent sharpening
for edge retention.
The new FatMax® Short Blade Chisels are designed with ergonomically
designed, bi-material, high-impact handles, for better comfort
and grip providing improved control during use. The handle
also features a steel-striking cap allowing the chisel to
resist tough impact, treatment and
an ability to be struck with a steel-headed hammer. Each chisel
has a descriptive etch mark displayed on the blade that clearly
identifies its size.
The Stanley® FatMax™ Short Blade Chisels are available
in ¼” – 2” sizes and available in
a three-or six-piece set or as nine single chisels. All pieces
come with a re-usable full-length blade protector. These sets
are currently available wherever Stanley® tools are sold
